Calling all budding bakers, makers, photographers, knitters and stitchers... Now is the time to get the recognition you deserve for your creative talents by entering the Town Show competitions.
This year we are delighted to share that the competitions have been sponsored by Hobbycraft Maidenhead - and each category winner will receive a £5 Hobbycraft voucher. The overall/adult 'Best in Show' will also receive a Hobbycraft hamper and a sun-flower themed keepsake - made by Craft Director Teresa Mills. Entry Fees: £1 per item per adult – up to a maximum of £5.00 (after that, entry is free). These proceeds will be donated to TVAP. Competition Classes
Art & Crafts Categories:
Adult:
1. Anything upcycled – we want to see you transform something unused or discarded into something new or better. This may include furniture, clothing, items for the house, etc
2. Papercraft – including origami, cardmaking, paper flowers and scrapbooking
3. Painting - portrait, still life and landscape (bonus points for Maidenhead related!)
4. Woollen / textile crafts
- Decorative item
- Functional item - e.g. clothing, headwear, bag
5. Needlecraft - anything that uses a needle and thread
6. Christmas decoration - for tree or wall
Photography Categories: Adult: 1. People - family, friends, neighbours, colleagues, social groups 2. Plants and nature - flowers, insects, animals 3. Place - landscape, monuments, secret spots - bonus points for Maidenhead Judging criteria: Entries will be judged on a combination of creativity and technique Rules:

Green fingers - NEW:
Adult:
1. Flower arranging - in your own favourite container (max 60-75cm)
2. 'What no flowers' arrangement - greenery display (max 60-75cm)
3. Best pumpkin - grow your own with Nature's Haven
Judging criteria: All entries to be judged on originality, use of materials and technique.
If there are not enough entries in each category, the judges will have the option of amalgamating two categories.
Children's categories:
FREE to enter - be in with a chance to win a Legoland family ticket!
1. Make something out of fruit & veg i.e. animal, car, house, ugly bug
2. Painting - Primary and Secondary school age classes
3. Best pumpkin - grow your own for free with Nature's Haven
4. Lego or duplo model - not using a kit
5. Decorated poem - write your own or choose your favourite, decorate it
6. Bake your favourite treat
7. Any other craft
Judging criteria: Entries will be judged on a combination of creativity and originality.
